The Massachusetts Right to Repair Coalition
Your Voice for Fairness in Automotive Repairs

YOUR CALL TO ACTION!

To All Independent Repairers and Consumers:

We need your help moving Right to Repair legislation in Massachusetts along. Right now we need to catalog more specific instances where an independent repairer had to send a customer back to the dealer to complete a repair due to being denied repair codes and information.

Many of you who receive this e-newsletter are the people on the front lines of the Right to Repair issue -- techs and repair shop owners who are doing your best to provide good service, reliable repairs and keep a business running and people employed during these tough economic times. the right to repair is critical for you. Did you know that a recent economic study (link) shows that each independent repair shop in Massachusetts loses an average of $12,000 each year just due to the lost productivity associated with difficulty in locating and obtaining the necessary tools and information from the manufacturers-- not to mention ultimately lost customers?

Specific examples of turning away a customer because of Right to Repair issues will help us let your lawmakers know the real impact of this on their constituents. The more cases we document the better. If you have one, please act now. We need to know the make, and model year of the vehicle, a brief description of the problem with the vehicle, and the customer's name and town they live in.

You can enter this information on our website (form), by email to Art.Kinsman@massrighttorepair.com, or fax to 617-248-9752.

Act Now, protect your Right to Repair!
